Vigilante 1982

Vigilante Eddie Marino (Robert Forster) is a factory worker in New York City. Vickie ( Rutanya) is his wife, as is Scott ( Dante Joseph). Eddie’s best friend, Nick ( Fred Williamson) Nick (Fred Williamson) has created a secret vigilante group along with two coworkers, Burke, and Ramon. They are enraged with the crime that is happening within their community. Since the police do not defend any person, Nick and his group are also tired of the police. Nick’s “group”, which is supported by a variety of local residents in turn, helps them. For instance, an alleged thug in the neighborhood chases an innocent woman, then takes her to the top of an apartment building. The thief then robs and kills the woman. The elderly lady who was witness to the incident did not report the incident to the police, but she does report the thug later to Nick and his fellow gang members. Nick and his companions take the thug by force from the street, put him inside their van and then drive away. The thug later is discovered dead in a parking lot with his arms and legs broken, and his head smashed into.

Eddie comes home from work to find Vickie was stabbed, and Scott killed during an home invasion. It was revenge for Vickie’s help in assaulting a petrol station employee earlier. Frederico “Rico” Melendez ( Willie Colon) is a member of a street gang in Puerto Rico, has been detained. Since New York doesn’t have the death penalty, the Assistant District Attorney Mary Fletcher ( Carol Lynley) is seeking an extended sentence in the jail. Nick attempts to convince Eddie to join the vigilante group however, Eddie is unable to accept Nick’s invitation and instead prefers to let the courts handle Rico. Rico gets released from prison after Prago (Don Blakely) his right-hand man is bribed by Judge Sinclair (Vincent Beck) and Eisenburg ( Joe Spinell) the attorney for Rico. Eddie angry at the judge’s decision, is sentenced to 30 days in jail.

The vigilantes follow Eddie into his cell where he’s in jail. After the arrest of a minor drug dealer ( Frank Pesce), and torturing his supply, they finally find an extremely high-ranking New York mayor’s official. Eddie becomes friends with Rake ( Woody Strade) while in prison , and he helps save his friend from sexual assault during showers. Eddie gets released from jail and is part of the vigilante group to hunt the suspects Prago, Rico and Judge Sinclair. Eddie, Nick and Ramon confront Rico in his shady apartment. Rico claims that Eddie killed his son, but the culprit was Prago. Incredibly unmoved, Eddie shoots Rico dead. Rico’s girlfriend attempts to kill him however Rico is able to escape by taking his own life. Burke is wounded instead and Nick shoots herself in self-defense. Prago believes that Rico was murdered by dirty cops after he learns of Rico’s death. Prago along with his gang rob the police vehicle, killing both police officers. Vickie is discharged from the hospital, but she refuses to go back home with Eddie. She quits Eddie and is unable to visit the home in which their son was killed. Eddie is also disgruntled by his actions in the murder of an individual, and worried that the gang could find him and he decides to go away. Nick is unsuccessfully trying to convince Eddie to fight. Prago is quickly recognized by Eddie when he departs Brooklyn. He is following Prago on his feet. Prago quickly recognizes Eddie and they start shooting at each one. Prago takes over an auto and Eddie is the one to take the vehicle. The two cars collide at the dockyard in the local area. Eddie chases Prago in a second pursuit on foot, and finally, he confronts Prago in a storage tower. Prago is insane and mad to the point of death, confesses to murdering Scott and threatens to have Eddie to kill the man. Eddie then throws Prago off the tower , and Prago is killed. Then, Eddie places a bomb inside the vehicle of Judge Sinclair and then is watching as it explodes, and kills Sinclair. Eddie quits the movie and heads off to an unidentified destination.
